CONSTRUCTION BEGINS ON CANALSIDE LOFTS

COLUMBIA, SC (November 2007) – Construction is now underway on CanalSide Lofts, the multi-family rental component of the CanalSide neighborhood in downtown Columbia’s desirable Vista district.

CanalSide Lofts consists of 175 units situated in 10 distinct buildings, offering 18 different 1 and 2 bedroom loft-style floorplans. Select interior unit features include wood floors, large island kitchens, exposed ductwork, soaring 20-foot ceilings and balconies with downtown skyline views. Neighborhood amenities include on-site retail, pool and sundeck, central mail and laundry facilities, professional-grade fitness center and business/conference room. In addition, the CanalSide neighborhood’s downtown location, adjacent to Riverfront Park provides residents direct access to the Three Rivers Greenway as well as the city’s premier restaurants, retail shopping, galleries and cultural activities located in the Vista.

Pre-leasing for CanalSide Lofts will begin in March 2008 with first occupancy in early summer 2008. The project is being developed by Beach CanalSide Lofts, LLC, an affiliate of The Beach Company. C.F.E. Construction Services, LLC is the General Contractor. Design consultants include LS3P Associates (Architect); Alliance Consulting Engineers (Civil Engineer); and DesignWorks, LC (Landscape Architect). Bank of America is providing construction financing for the project.

CanalSide is a mixed-use development on the banks of the Columbia Canal and Congaree River in downtown Columbia’s Vista district. The neighborhood, developed by Beach CanalSide, LLC, an affiliate of The Beach Company, represents the new way to live in Columbia: a "city within a city" that will include retail, commercial and a wide range of residential offerings, all in a pedestrian-friendly neighborhood environment.
